Biography

I am a visiting student from RWTH Aachen University in Germany. Currently I am pursuing research into the Structural Health Monitoring of Composite Materials at the CRN in Kelowna as part of my Master’s Thesis. My Bachelor’s Studies were focused on energy system engineering. During my studies, I worked as a research assistant at the Institute of applied mechanics at RWTH which was my first practical experience with FEM and working in a research oriented environment.

For my Master’s studies my focus shifted towards mechanical simulations and renewable energy. I have been working as a research assistant at the Center for Windpower Drives at RWTH where I was responsible for a wide span of tasks, ranging from FEM Simulation of rotor blades to the optimization of wind farms.

Apart from my studies I try to spend time outdoor on skis, a bike or training for my first marathon later this year.
