Biography

Hadi Hosseininari earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of British Columbia in 2024. His doctoral work included a collaborative effort with KOHLER Company to enhance the temperature control precision in the thermoforming process. He engineered and deployed a scalable AI-based thermal controller, which utilized reinforcement learning techniques and was further refined through infrared camera-based feedback. Additionally, during his time at UBC, he was involved in a MITACS-funded project for one year, where he designed a sensor to detect sludge levels in septic tanks. This project, conducted in partnership with Mountain Side Earthworks, led to the development and successful field testing of a working prototype. He is currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of British Columbia under the joint supervision of Dr. Abbas Milani and Dr. Rudolf Seethaler. His postdoctoral work involves conducting full-scale tests on a previously developed lab-scale thermoforming setup. His research aims to optimize both the equipment and the thermoforming process itself.
