Biography
My career in engineering started at the University of Alberta(U of A) in Edmonton, Alberta, where I completed my BSc. in Mechanical Engineering. As part of my undergraduate education, I was enrolled in the Co-operative education program through which I held intern positions with a Consulting engineering firm, an oil field equipment manufacturer and a directional drilling R&D group. I was also part of the inaugural Eco Car team at the U of A where I helped design and build the first generation hydrogen fuel cell car, Steve. I then took on the role of Mechanical Design Lead during the preliminary design of the second generation vehicle, Alice. Following graduation, and a brief return to my position in directional drilling, I worked for a leading manufacturer of special trackwork in North America as a Designer. I then joined the Composites Research Network in January of 2018 where I am currently researching additive manufacturing of woven composite materials.
