I am a fifth-year mechanical engineering student at UBC Okanagan with a passion for using technology for social good in areas like healthcare, accessibility, and sustainability. Over the past five years, I have worked as a research assistant within the areas of disease and injury prevention at UBC and as a co-op student in the manufacturing engineering industry.

My specific research projects include the prevention of COVID-19 spread in indoor environments through UBC’s Airborne Disease Transmission Research Cluster; identifying sex-based differences in handrail loading during fall recovery; and, most recently, a systematic review on the impacts of mobility aids on fall prevention in community dwelling older adults through UBC’s Ageing in Place Research Cluster.

These experiences have led me to have a strong value for robust experimental design, data collection, and optimization processes. I aspire to work in R&D engineering and technology policy in the future. I am looking forward to working in the CRN under the supervision of Dr. Abbas Milani.
