Biography

I started my engineering career in Tehran, Iran, obtaining my BSc in Mechanical Engineering in 2014 with a thesis focusing on design and optimization of a spaceframe for an Automated Guided Vehicle for a car manufacturing company. I then, began my scientific career in composites manufacturing by joining CRN Okanagan lab.  As part of my MASc degree, I designed experimental methods and fixtures to characterize the underlying deformation behind generation of common defects in woven and non-crimp fabrics. As it turned out that I like it when things go wrong (!), I continued my research on defects by pursuing a PhD with the goal of simulating wrinkling in autoclave processing of aerospace woven prepregs. I also make contribution to a variety of ongoing industrial and research projects at CRNO.

Offline, I enjoy hiking, skiing and exploring the beautiful British Columbia, with my camera in hand.
